Where? Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club, Somerset.
1989 NSM4 built by Graham Edwards, originally hog stepped, but later converted to deck stepped.
This beautiful, classic boat comes with : (probably) the original M1 alloy mast and the usual abundance of sails and spinnakers including a decent HD set, two carbon spinnaker poles rigged for self launching, and an old but serviceable launching/ road trailer combo, a cover that keeps the dust off but not much else so will need covered storage or a new one a fixed rudder and original spinnaker pole.
The photos should provide any missing information. At the end of March I checked the boat and the paintwork, which was professionally renewed and the varnished topsides looked top-class. A lot of boat and kit for that money I reckon.
Qualifies for the MROA Classic Series and at Chew we raced in the general handicap on a rating similar to Scorpions and RS200s rather than the modern Merlin handicap, so that could be applied successfully elsewhere, results being more down to the helm and crews ability and who made least mistakes rather than boat design. It was a lot of fun, provided we stayed upright ! The boat is worth more than the asking price but for personal reasons we can no longer keep her.
This boat cannot be bought online and buyer must collect so please message if interested RICK KNAPP
