An  ten foot square oilcloth commissioned for a client's eighteenth century house in Connecticut made and painted by Jane.
This type of floor covering was more common in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries in Britain and North America.
The marble check pattern was a typical oilcloth design for upper and middle class houses.
