While this Georgian house Upper East Hayes in Bath was being restored, I was asked to paint a figure at a second floor  window.
The opening had been blocked up at the time of the Window Tax (which was the origin of the term "daylight robbery") and never reopened.

I chose to depict a man looking down towards the garden who is  dressed in  a  velvet night cap and gown.
