Jane Knapp's silver-plated candle holder is inspired by a 17th century Dutch design. Attached to the wall by a loop, it may be hung by a picture pin and easily removed for cleaning. The deep beaten shell reflects the light of a flame very effectively.

Hostas make lovely lush cover in a damp or shady part of the garden. We have ours in oak half barrels and keep slugs at bay by using nemetodes rather than pellets.
I created a candle holder that featured the characteristic ridges and heart shape of the large greeni-blue variety "Hosta Elegans".
