This design reflects the romantic and exotic elements woven around the tale" Vathek", a Gothic novel written in the late 18th century by William Beckford, wealthy art collector, traveller and builder of Fonthill Abbey in Wiltshire and Beckford's tower, Bath. See Beckford ceiling pendants which have been designed to work with the Vathek wall lights.

The Vathek floods the wall with atmospheric patterns of light giving a relaxing and calming effect. It is available in Verdigris, Iron, Nickel Silver and Copper, in two sizes: Vathek Long and Vathek.
EACH WALL LIGHT IS SUPPLIED WITH AN ANGLED LAMPHOLDER OF 60 WATT CAPACITY THAT CONFORMS TO EEC SAFETY STANDARDS.

This fitting is made from heavy gauge copper. It is hand beaten to form its shape and then hand polished. Usually the metal needs a quick clean twice a year to maintain the bright copper colour.
(It can also be supplied with an aged copper effect that will not need polishing.)
The picture shows the dramatic shadows cast when the fitting is lit.

The arms of the chandelier are a dark brown iron and the handmade shades are polished
copper. Each lampholder takes an Eddison screw bulb of 60watts max.
Supplied with an adjustable iron chain and ceiling hook.

Distressed and beeswaxed steel, treated to resemble antique armour. This is a very masculine light, and was chosen as part of the restoration of a castle in the south of France built by The Black Prince. It also looks handsome in this lawyer's study.
