The tables are made to your choice of size, colouration and level of textured "distressing" in an English workshop with character timber.
For over 20 years Jane acted as design director at Walcot Reclamation. Her extensive knowledge of antiques and interior design enabled many of Walcot's customers to acheive splendid results with bespoke furniture. From December 2009 Jane has supplied the tables and furniture through Jane Knapp Ltd

French style refectory table
An example of a 9' 6" French style table with an adzed top and medium distressing .
Made for a London customer. Smaller versions do not need stretchers.
extensions or drawers can be added.

Cannon leg refectory table
An example of an 7' 6" table with an adzed top and light distressing . The legs were turned so they were slightly finer than standard.
Extension leaves can be ordered. English seventeenth century design.

Baluster leg refectory table
Example of a "Baluster leg" table with an adzed top and medium distressing which has been stained to the medium oak colour .
This example of a 7' 6" x 36 table" will seat eight people comfortably. It is usually made to a height of 30 inches but for tall customers with long legs the height can be increased upon request as with all our tables.

Twin Pedestal style refectory table

This example shows a Customer's 7' 6" x 39" table with heavy distressing and adze tooled top in the "Suffolk Oak" colour .It will comfortably seat 8 people with room for jugs and pleatters on the tabletop. On informal occasions this style is great for getting as many people round the table as possible because no legs are at the corners.
Please add £255 to the graph at bottom of page for this style of table because of the extra timber required in the heavier contsruction.

Abbot's Style Refectory Table

This example shows a 7' 6" x 39" table. Any size can be made, coloured and aged to your requirements. On informal occasions this style is great for getting as many people round the table as possible because no legs are at the corners.

Abbot's Style Refectory Table with Extension Leaves

This example shows a 7' 6" x 39" table fitted with two 18" extension leaves so that a further 4 guests can be seated. It will comfortably accomodate 12 people when extended with room for jugs and platters on the tabletop. On informal occasions this style is great for getting as many people round the table as possible because no legs are at the corners.

Folding table with handmade hinges
The leaves on this folding top table are supported by lopers and can be conveiently folded away when not in use.It can also be made with a single central stretcher.
This example has been finished in "antique oak colour"

Double gate leg table

Another useful design that can be stored away when not in use.
These tables can be made to any finish to suit. This example has "medium oak" colout with medium distressing
Typical sizes are:
6' 6" x 5'
7' 6" x 5' (seats10 max)
8' 6" x 5' (seats12)
10' x 6'

Oak Table with Hand carved Top

This splendid piece of oak furniture was made for a private client who required a dining table for her medieval hall. It was supplied with a removable extension leaf at one end so extra guests can be seated when the occassion demands .

The cable design was researched and drawn up by Jane and then hand carved on the edge of the table in the Suffolk workshop. Care was taken for the interpretaion to be lively and a little irregular so that the overall effect looked early English. The surface was distressed and aged all over to remove any sharp lines and edges.

Oak Pedestal table

These tables can be made to any finish to suit. This example has "light oak" colout with medium distressing sizes are:
48" diameter comfortably seats four
54" diameter comfortably seats six
60" diameter comfortably seats eight
